Sarajevo, registered at Fra Anđela Zvizdovića Street No. 1, Sarajevo (CRN 65-01-0423-24, UIN 4203334300008) (hereinafter “Starbyte”), collects, processes, and manages your personal data when you visit our website, as well as how we collect and process personal data as part of the job application process.

In accordance with the Law on the Protection of Personal Data of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), Starbyte, as the data controller, determines the purposes and methods of personal data collection and processing. Starbyte is responsible for protecting your personal data and complies with all applicable regulations concerning the protection, confidentiality, and security of your personal data.

1. Purpose of Data Processing

Personal data is processed for the following purposes: 

  • To ensure the technical stability and proper functioning of Starbyte’s website, which may include conducting secure authentication of users accessing the website. 

  • To process job applications and other relevant documentation in the recruitment process, including curricula vitae (CVs) and other data from individuals expressing interest in employment opportunities.

We obtain your personal data:

  • from you directly: through your inquiries to us, your CVs, and the entry of personal data via the relevant forms during the application process.

  • from your internet browser (automatically) when you visit our website, based on the settings you have selected.

The provision of your personal data is voluntary.

When accessing this website and during the application process, users may provide (and by accepting these Rules consent to the collection and processing of) the following types of personal data:

We do not request or require any special categories of personal data from applicants or other users, such as religious beliefs, race, health status, sexual orientation, or political affiliation.

3. Legal Bases for Processing

The legal basis for processing your data is your consent, in accordance with the Law on the Protection of Personal Data of BiH. As a data subject, you have the right to withdraw your consent for the processing of your personal data at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal (i.e., withdrawal is not retroactive).
In any case, Starbyte, as the controller, may process data without the data subject’s consent if one of the following conditions is met:

  • If it processes personal data in accordance with the law or if processing is necessary to fulfil responsibilities established by law.

  • If necessary for the data subject, upon request, to negotiate a contractual relationship or fulfil obligations agreed with the controller.

  • If it is necessary to protect the vital interests of the data subject, the data subject’s consent must be obtained without delay, or processing must cease and the collected data must be destroyed.

  • If the processing of personal data is necessary to perform a task carried out in the public interest.

  • If processing is necessary for the legitimate interests pursued by the controller or a third party, provided that such processing does not override the fundamental rights and freedoms of the data subject.

  • If it is necessary to carry out the legitimate activities of political parties, movements, citizens’ associations, trade unions, or religious communities, except where the interests in the fundamental rights and freedoms of the data subject, particularly the right to privacy regarding the processing of personal data, take precedence over such activities.

4. Transfer of Your Personal Data

For the purposes outlined above, your personal data may be disclosed to the following recipients:

  • to the company/companies within our group (LKW WALTER Internationale Transportorganisation AG, CONTAINEX Container-Handelsgesellschaft m.b.H., WALTER LAGER-BETRIEBE GmbH, WALTER LEASING GmbH, WALTER BUSINESS-PARK GmbH, WALTER GROUP Service GmbH, WaVe-X Management GmbH), and by accepting this Data Protection and Privacy Policy, you also consent to this transfer.

  • to third parties we engage, e.g., IT service providers, etc. When third parties are granted access to your personal data, Starbyte will take the necessary contractual, technical, and organisational measures to ensure adequate protection of your personal data in accordance with the law and to ensure that your personal data is processed only to the extent necessary.

Employees of the controller or processor (a natural or legal person processing data on behalf of the controller), who process personal data under a contract with the controller, and other individuals who, in exercising legally prescribed rights and duties, come into contact with personal data on the premises of the controller or processor, are obliged to maintain the confidentiality of personal data and adhere to the established security measures.

5. Retention Period

We retain and process personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, in compliance with statutory retention requirements.

6. Your Rights in Relation to Personal Data

As a data subject, you have the following rights regarding the processing of your personal data: 

  • to be informed about the collection of data and the source of personal data.

  • to receive information regarding the processing of your personal data.
